What is the AI Knowledge Base?
The Knowledge Base is an intelligence layer behind Strike Graph the suite of AI-native compliance features built into the GRC product. As you upload evidence attachments throughout your compliance program, Knowledge Base automatically analyzes those documents and extracts key information about your organization — including your vendors, systems, sub-systems, and people.
This extracted information is then used by Verify AI and Security Assistant to deliver more accurate, context-aware results. Instead of relying on generic compliance guidance, these AI features can reference your actual technology environment and organizational structure when conducting evidence testing, answering questions, or providing recommendations.
In short, the more you use Strike Graph, the smarter your AI features become — without any extra effort on your part.
Knowledge Base is only available on certain Strike Graph plans. Please refer to our website or contact your customer success manager for more information.
How does the AI Knowledge Base work?
The AI Knowledge Base builds itself automatically as part of your existing compliance workflow. Here's how:
You upload evidence attachments — whether manually or through automated collection, once the feature is turned on, every attachment you add to your evidence items is processed by the AI Knowledge Base.
Entities are extracted — Strike Graph analyzes the contents of your attachments and identifies key entities such as vendor names, technology systems, sub-systems, and people.
Knowledge is deduplicated and stored — Extracted entities are deduplicated across your attachments so that your Knowledge Base maintains a clean, accurate picture of your organization.
AI features use this context — Verify AI and Security Assistant reference the Knowledge Base when performing tasks, enabling more relevant and personalized results.
What gets extracted?
The AI Knowledge Base currently identifies and tracks four types of entities:
People — Individuals identified in your evidence documents
Vendors — Companies that supply technology or services to your organization
Systems — The primary tools and platforms your organization uses
Sub-systems — Individual components or services within a larger system
How the Knowledge Base may enhances AI features
Strike Graph's integration of Knowledge Base into our AI features is ongoing.
Verify AI
With access to your organization's Knowledge Base, Verify AI can test evidence against real-world context. For example, it may identify missing users, incomplete access lists, or gaps in documentation based on the people and systems it knows should be in scope. This could result in more accurate testing and fewer surprises during reviews.
Security Assistant
Security Assistant may use the Knowledge Base to provide more relevant guidance and recommendations. Instead of generic suggestions, it may reference specific vendors or systems already present in your environment, helping your team proactively close compliance gaps.
Viewing the AI Knowledge Base
If the feature is available in your workspace, Managers can view the extracted entities in the Knowledge Base settings page.
How to access the Knowledge Base
Navigate to Settings from the main Strike Graph menu.
Click on the Knowledge Base tab.
Understanding the Knowledge Base view
At the top of the page, you'll see count cards summarizing the number of extracted entities by type: People, Vendors, Systems, and Sub-systems. These counts give you a quick overview of how much organizational context the AI Knowledge Base has gathered.
Below the count cards, a searchable table displays all extracted entities. You can use the following tools to explore your Knowledge Base:
Search — Enter a keyword to find specific entities by name.
Type filter — Filter the list by entity type (People, Vendors, Systems, or Sub-systems).
Sort by date — Sort entities by when they were last modified.
Uploading additional knowledge
In addition to the automatic extraction from evidence attachments, you can manually upload documents to supplement the Knowledge Base with additional organizational context. To do this, create an evidence item and upload relevant documentation to it. These attachments will be processed and the information added to your Knowledge Base.
Availability and permissions
The Knowledge Base is available for organizations with access to Strike Graph's AI-powered features. If you don't see the Knowledge Base tab in your Settings, reach out to your Customer Success Manager to confirm availability for your plan.
Please note: Only users with Manager permissions can view the AI Knowledge Base settings page.
