The Identification and Authentication Policy (CMMC Level 1) establishes requirements for uniquely identifying and verifying users, processes, and devices before granting system access. It requires assigning unique identifiers to all users and devices, authenticating every entity prior to access, and immediately changing factory default passwords on any new equipment before use.
